If you are planning to participate on one of our courses, you will spend the time on the Technical University Denmark’s Lyngby Campus. On this page, you will find some useful tips to ensure a comfortable time in Denmark.

    DTU Lyngby Campus

DTU’s main campus is located 20 minutes north of Copenhagen city centre, in the town of Lyngby. The campus is divided into 100 buildings, which are scattered across the 106-hectare great plain.

    Accommodation

The Greater Copenhagen area is a popular tourist destination and there are many hotels and Airbnb locations throughout the city, including in Lyngby. We recommend the following hotels:

    In Lyngby:

    • Zleep Hotel Lyngby is about 1,4 km from the DTU Lyngby campus and is the closest hotel to our course venues. Car parking is free for hotel guests.
    • Scandic Eremitage, Kongens Lyngby is located in the heart of Lyngby and is 2.4 km from the DTU Lyngby campus. It is located in the heart of Lyngby centre and is a 5-minute walk from the Lyngby Station. A bus stop right outside of the hotel takes you straight to campus (around 8 minute ride) that is located right outside of the hotel.
    • Hotel Postgaarden, Lyngby is located in the heart of Lyngby, right around the corner from Lyngby Station. This hotel is around 2,7 km from DTU’s Lyngby campus and you can easily catch multiple direct buses to campus from Lyngby Station.

    In Copenhagen:

    • Hotel Kong Arthur is in the lively Nørrebro neighbourhood of Copenhagen, and is around 13 km from DTU’s Lyngby campus. You can catch a direct bus or train/bus combination to DTU’s Lyngby campus (around 40 minutes total).
    • Absalon Hotel is located near the Copenhagen Central train station and is around 14,7 km to DTU’s Lyngby campus. You can catch a direct train from Copenhagen Central station to Lyngby station and then a direct bus from the station to campus (around 40 minutes total).
    • Woodah Boutique Hostel is located near the Copenhagen Central train station, and is around 14,7 km to DTU’s Lyngby campus. You can catch a direct train from Copenhagen Central station to Lyngby station, and then a direct bus from the station to campus (around 40 minutes total).

    Transport

    By bus or train

Several busses cross or pass the campus area and Lyngby Station is just 2 km away with even more bus connections.

Access the Journey Planner to see how to get to DTU with public transportation from the airport and the main stations of Copenhagen.

    By car

Please use Google maps to navigate your way to DTU’s Lyngby Campus. Practical information on the course venue’s address and suggestions for parking will be sent to participants via e-mail prior to the course.

    By taxi

From the airport, a taxi to campus will cost you around DKK 600 (EUR 80) and from the downtown Copenhagen area, a taxi will cost you around DKK 350 (EUR 47). Please note that these costs are subject to vary.

Customers will receive an invoice to the email address that you have provided during your course registration.

Customers are requested to pay the course fee within 30 days after receiving the invoice, but at the latest three weeks before the course starts.

If no payment arrangements or confirmation has been received within 30 business days after receiving the invoice and at least two weeks before the start of the course, we reserve the right to cancel your participation.

    Cancellation Policies

    Cancellation by registrant

To cancel a registration and be eligible for a refund of course fees, you must notify DTU by e-mail to learnforlife@dtu.dk, cc to seunam@dtu.dk. Fees are refunded according to the following schedule:

    • A 100% of the course fees will be refunded if notification is received at the latest 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
    • A 50% refund of the course fees will be refunded if notification is received 2-4 weeks in advance of the course start date.
    • No refund will be issued if notice is received less than 2 weeks in advance of the course start date.

If you are not able to participate in the event, a colleague is welcome to attend in your place. Substitutions may be made up to two business days prior to the course start date. Notify DTU by sending an e-mail to learnforlife@dtu.dk, cc to seunam@dtu.dk, and please include the name and email contact for the participant replacement.

    Cancellation by DTU

Biotech Lifelong Learning retains the right to cancel a continuing education short course with no less than 4 weeks notice in advance of the scheduled course start date.

Biotech Lifelong Learning will notify registrants if a course is cancelled via e-email and the registrants will receive a full refund of the paid course fees.

Neither Biotech Lifelong Learning nor DTU are responsible for airfare penalties or other costs incurred due to the cancellation of a course.

In the case that a speaker is not able to present their lecture, due to unforeseen circumstances, Biotech Lifelong Learning will keep the right to arrange a replacement or cancel that presentation.

    Pre-course communication

Upon successful registration for a course, registrants will receive an automatically-generated email confirming their registration. If you do not receive this within two business days of registering for a course, please contact learnforlife@dtu.dk, cc to seunam@dtu.dk, to confirm your registration.

Once registered, confirmed course participants will receive an email approximately three weeks before the scheduled course with detailed information regarding travel to DTU, parking information, and any other relevant information.

    Waitlist policy

Please note that seats are limited on each of our continuing education courses.

If the course that you want to take is already full, you are welcome to e-mail seunam@dtu.dk and ask to be placed on a waitlist for that course.

The waitlist is used to fill any seats that become available in the case that registered participants are unable to attend.

If one or more seats become available, individuals on the waitlist are contacted in the order in which they were added to the list.

In addition to ensuring that popular courses remain full, our course waitlists provide a means of tracking interest to determine if additional course dates are necessary.

Biotech Lifelong Learning makes every effort to schedule additional course offerings if there are a sufficient amount of people on a course waitlist.

If a new offering is scheduled, those on the waitlist will be notified before the registration opens to the general public.

Please note that placement on a waitlist does not commit individuals to attend a course.

It simply ensures that they are given the first opportunity to enroll on a course, if a seat becomes available.

We are unable to provide information about the number wait-listed individuals for any given course, nor an individual’s place on such a list.
