Hands-On Microscopy (Tailor-Made Course)
Are you looking to advance your knowledge of optical microscopy?
This course will teach you advanced optical microscopy techniques and provide you with hands-on experience. You’ll learn how to use the latest optical microscopy equipment to analyze your own samples and get in-depth introduction to the world of fluorescence microscopy or confocal microscopy. Our course is designed to give you the tools you need to become a master of optical microscopy. Join us and take your skills to the next level!
Watch the video above to get a proper introduction to the course content and the possibilities of customization.
This course aims at teaching and demonstrating advanced optical microscopy techniques. The content is depending on what you want to learn and can include one or more of these topics:
- Bright field microscopy
- Fluorescence microscopy
- Phase contrast
- DIC or Dark field microscopy
- Confocal microscopy
- Stereo microscopy
- Low light microscopy
- Time lapse microscopy
- Automated screening in microtiter trays.
Courses start with an introductory lecture followed by hands-on microscopy, using your own samples or samples we provide.
Attendance is limited to 2-3 persons per session due to the hands-on part of the course.
Courses are tailor-made to your needs or we offer two standard courses:
1) Fluorescence microscopy
2) Confocal microscopy
Please contact the instructor for further information prior to signing up.
Learning Outcomes
You will learn the principle of the chosen microscopy technology, and how to operate an instrument from installing a sample, over finding, and recording areas of interest to basic post-recording image enhancing techniques.
With this course, you’ll be able to analyze your own samples independently.
More advanced training, follow-up courses or hands-on sessions are available upon request.
Who should attend?
This course is the perfect fit for:
- Technicians and technologists from analytical laboratories involved in microbiology, cell biology or other biology-related topics
- Scientists
- PhD students
- Post-docs who wish to perform microscopy analyses.
