Overall Course Objectives
To provide a basic understanding of electricity and the main related calculation principles.
The students are introduced to the electricity grid and the main components involved in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Moreover, principles calculations in simple networks are covered.

- Calculate the electrical quantities of 3-phase electrical network

- Model transformers with appropriate equivalents
- Model the overhead lines with appropriate equivalent

- Calculate the voltage and current in simple networks
- Analyse given load conditions
- Apply the per-unit principle
- Introduction to nummerical methods for solving electrical ystems

Recommended prerequisites
62715/62745, It will be difficult to complete the course if the student doesn’t have a good understanding of circuit calculations and especially calculations using complex numbers and three phase systems. The student also should have a level ov competetency in the use of calculation programs like Excel, Maple, Matlab and the like.
