Management and Organization
Overall Course Objectives
Students learn to apply concepts, tools and theories related to leadership in organizations and organizational behavior. The course complements an engineering background with a leadership mindset and a hands-on understanding of how organizations behave, what is expected from you to lead them, and how to accomplish strategic objectives jointly. The course includes a discussion of the changing environment in which organizations operate and the skills and capabilities required to lead the changes. The course prepares students to navigate and lead organizational environments in high technology contexts.

Learning Objectives
- Learn concepts, tools and theories related to learning organizational leadership and analyzing organizational behavior
- Develop and argue for leadership approaches in various organizational cultures
- Identify, analyze and solve leadership situations in case studies (including considerations for power and conflict)
- Choose, justify and evaluate relevant theoretical positions in addressing a leadership situation
- Analyze changing organizational environments and develop organizational and strategic capabilities for coping with changes
- Consider particularities of technology-intensive organizations from leadership and organizational behavior perspective
- Synthetize learnings on leadership and organizational behavior and evaluate applicability in (technology-intensive) organizational contexts
- Rehearse leadership in team work

The course addresses leadership in organizations from organizational and management science perspective.
