Building Energy & heating systems

Overall Course Objectives

A student who participates in the course will be able to calculate the building’s energy needs, as well as project heat installations for larger buildings in a digital environment.

Learning Objectives

  • Interpret existing legal requirements, standards and instructions in the area
  • Calculate the expected energy consumption of larger buildings.
  • Calculate the energy framework of a larger building
  • Evaluate the properties and use of components and materials used in heating installations
  • Plan and design heating systems in a larger building, as well as evaluate different solution options
  • Dimensioning components included in heating systems
  • Perform drawings to heating systems in a digital environment
  • Manegement of the heat energy plant

Course Content

We must contribute to meeting the UN’s world goals. In this course we focus on No. 7 Sustainable Energy.
In this course ville calculate the expected energy consumption of larger buildings.
We must design heating systems for larger buildings, including dimensioning and selection of components, balancing, control and operation and maintenance of heat and energy plants

Teaching Method

Preparation by the student’s self-study of literature and videos. Summary in plenary. Attendance is expected.
Solution of course work in groups.
