Overall Course Objectives

To enable the student to analyze and design analog amplifiers with an emphasis on integrated circuits in CMOS technology

Learning Objectives

  • Know large signal models and small signal models for MOS transistors and use the models for circuit analysis
  • Analyze single-transistor amplifier stages realized with MOS transistors
  • Analyze differential stages realized with MOS transistors
  • Analyze multistage amplifiers realized with MOS transistors
  • Analyze circuits with negative feedback
  • Design a simple two-stage operational amplifier realized with MOS transistors
  • Design simple circuits for the generation of bias currents and bias voltages
  • Simulate CMOS integrated circuits using LTspice
  • Apply Danish as well as English electro-technical terminology
