Single-Course Engelsk 5 ECTS

Communication, Culture and Global Contexts

Overall Course Objectives

The course aims to develop students’ ability to communicate effectively in English in international and intercultural contexts. Communication is understood as inherently shaped by cultural perspectives and global conditions, and the course therefore integrates language use, cultural awareness and knowledge of geopolitical contexts.

Students are introduced to how meaning is negotiated across linguistic and cultural boundaries in professional and project-oriented settings. The course emphasises purposeful communication, where clarity, audience awareness and contextual understanding are central.

Furthermore, the course prepares students for subsequent work with intercultural communication in engineering by establishing a foundation and introducing models for analysing and applying communication strategies in increasingly complex and technical contexts.
