Better Decision Making – Executive MBA Experience Day

Making Better Decisions

Every day, senior executives make decisions that shape strategy, performance, and people’s lives. We like to believe these decisions are rational, objective, and data-driven. Yet research consistently shows that even the most experienced leaders are vulnerable to systematic biases, flawed judgment, and group dynamics that distort outcomes. This interactive EMBA experience day invites you to step inside the reality of executive decision-making.

What to Expect

You will explore how decisions are actually made in organisations — under time pressure, uncertainty, and high stakes. Through engaging discussions, practical exercises, and high-profile case studies, we examine why smart leaders sometimes make poor decisions — and what can be done to improve judgment. The day includes: · A deep dive into the decision failures surrounding Hurricane Katrina · Insights into team dynamics during the Cuban Missile Crisis · A live strategic team simulation: “The Mother of All Races” · A forward-looking discussion on AI in executive decision-making

Who is it for?

If you are considering an Executive MBA at DTU, this is your opportunity to experience how we combine research-based insight, real-world cases, and strategic reflection to strengthen executive judgment.
