Research Topics in Cybersecurity
Overall Course Objectives
To provide knowledge of selected advanced topics in cybersecurity. To give participants practice at investigating topics in the literature and producing oral and written presentations which distill the essential features of a topic on the basis of a literature study. Participants are expected to make an oral presentation with appropriate presentation material in the course of the 13-week period, and to deliver a final report.

Learning Objectives
- Search the literature for relevant information on recent advances in cybersecurity
- Evaluate the quality and reliability of information on cybersecurity found from various information sources
- Present the salient features of an approach to a given topic found in the available literature
- Analyse possible applications of methods and theories found in teh literature, in order to achieve given targets for cybersecurity
- Discuss possible applications of methods and theories found in the literature, in order to achieve given targets for cybersecurity
- Demonstrate corret use of the terminology used in modern presentations of advanced topics in cybersecurity
- Give a coherent oral presentation of a chosen topic or topics in cybersecurity, based on a study of relevant literature
- Give a written presentation, in the form of a conference or journal article, a technical report or a contribution to a compendium, on a chosen topic in cybersecurity, based on a study of relevant literature
- Act as a member of a small team (3-5 students) and participate constructively in its management
Course Content
The topics considered in this course will change from year to year. Typical topics could include: cyber-deception, usable privacy and security, IoT security, advanced cryptography, post-quantum security, secure multi-party computation, security in pervasive systems.

Teaching Method
The course consists of lectures, student seminars and project work.
