You will receive an introduction to DTU’s Executive Master in Sustainable Leadership, a part-time master’s program that, three days a month for two years, equips you with top-level leadership competencies for driving green transition, sustainability, and regenerative leadership both locally and globally. Beyond the curriculum itself, the program is designed for ambitious professionals from all industries who recognize that innovation, sustainability, and regenerative thinking are no longer optional – they are strategic imperatives. As markets shift, regulations tighten, and customers demand responsible practices, leaders who can translate sustainability into competitive advantage will shape the future of business.

Who is the Master in Sustainable Leadership programme for?
DTU Master in Sustainable Leadership is master programme for senior specialists, project managers and business leaders who wish to continue their lifelong learning journey and enhance their skills in leadership and how to lead sustainable change.

The admission requirements are five years of work experience with three years of experience as knowledge-leader, project-leader and/or people-leader.
Mette Harrestrup holds a master’s degree in design from Design School Kolding and a PhD in Design Research from the Aarhus School of Architecture, complemented by a Diploma in Leadership. With more than 25 years of experience leading teams, innovation processes and business development, she has developed deep expertise in how research-based design, innovation, and strategy can drive meaningful transformation in companies and public organizations. She has extensive experience serving on boards, advisory councils, and in political advisory roles, and she works as a mentor, consultant, and strategic advisor for startups as well as private and public institutions. As Program Director of DTU’s Executive Master in Sustainable Leadership, she is committed to developing leaders of the future across sectors who can navigate responsibly, sustainably, and innovatively in an increasingly complex world. Mette’s work is driven by a profound passion for strategy, leadership, design, and business. Over the years, she has had the privilege of collaborating with global companies such as Nike, Dior, IKEA, and Louis Vuitton on sustainable innovation, education, and research.

Director of Practice, Executive Master in Sustainable Leadership
Jackie is Director of Practice at DTU Executive Education, Technical University of Denmark. She is co-director of the Master program in Sustainable Leadership, a technology and innovation driven sustainability program. Jackie is an experienced social entrepreneur and has worked on developing, disseminating, and implementing sustainability solutions globally, including in Denmark, 11 Africa countries, India, China, and Singapore. As an entrepreneur and leader, Jackie has led multiple social enterprises that bring sustainability solutions to market, including her social enterprise Essmart, which distributes 350+ sustainable products to rural India via local retail shops. As a facilitator, she has designed programs, courses, and toolkits for developing sustainability solutions within companies at INSEAD, Harvard, MIT, for the UN Global Compact and the U.S. Embassy, and for UNLEASH, a global innovation co-creation program for the SDGs. Jackie has a BS in mechanical engineering from Harvard and an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge. She has been featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and has been expert contributor both on National Public Radio in the US and in the Economist.
