Organizations and management
Formal features, including organization structure, objectives and the informal features, including organizational culture and informal power structures. In addition, the course focuses particularly on the organization of corporate operations-/production environment, so that students acquire specific skills to structure the production role within the company, and on change management

Learning Objectives
- Describe the central ideas in key theories and concepts with organisation theory and management theory
- Describe the formal and informal features in an organisation
- Describe and analyse central organisational phenomena such as structure, power relations, authority, leadership, decision, culture, motivation, change, communication and organisational environment.
- Describe and evaluate organisation’s design in relation to concrete and specific productions processes.
- Describe and evaluate common theories of management
- Describe and analyse the challenges tied to organisational change and change management
- Conduct theoretically based analysis of organisations and organisational problems and phenomena.
- Evaluate organisation theory and management theory
- Reflect critically on the application of organization theory and management theory
Course Content

Lessons, discussions, exercises to explore and exploit the theories on case descriptions and empirical material.
