Single-Course studies at DTU

Take single courses at DTU and strengthen your profile with technological competencies

When you enroll in a single course, you will attend classes together with DTU’s full-time students. Teaching usually takes place during daytime hours, 1–2 times a week over 13 weeks, allowing you to enhance your profile and specialize within DTU’s many technological fields.

Each semester, DTU offers a wide range of single courses at both bachelor’s and master’s level, with instruction in Danish or English.

Course start
Semester courses begin in February and September. You can also choose 3-week intensive courses with daily teaching, offered in January, June, July, and August.

Admission requirements

Enrollment depends on available places, and you must meet the admission requirements for the relevant program. Work experience is not required. If you do not meet the requirements, consider DTU’s one-year admission course. Contact the course coordinator listed in the course description if in doubt.

You cannot enroll if you:

  • do not meet the admission requirements
  • have not paid for the course
  • the course is fully booked by DTU full-time students
  • are enrolled in a DTU full-time program and the course is part of your curriculum
  • have already used your three exam attempts without an exemption

It is not possible to complete an entire diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree solely through single courses. At most, half of a program’s standard duration may be completed via single courses, and no more than one year may be studied full time (60 ECTS). A master’s thesis cannot be taken as a single course.
